What is a Direct Cremation?
A Direct Cremation is a simple, hassle free way of saying goodbye to your loved one. Direct Cremations are becoming extremely popular and gives families a chance to celebrate their loved ones life in their own unique way.
What can we expect from a Direct Cremation?
Direct Cremations are unattended and a simple alternative to a traditional funeral. However, there are more restrictions. With a Direct Cremation, we will bring your loved one safely into our care from their place of death. You will not be able to visit your loved one in a chapel of rest or attend the cremation service. You won't be required to provide clothes for your loved one, we will provide a pure white satin gown for them to be dressed in. We will provide a simple oak effect coffin. We will also choose a time and date for the service. Once the cremation has taken place, we will collect the ashes from the crematorium, place them into a Scatter Tube urn which is included and personally return them to you.
Death Certificates
We can assist you in obtaining death certificates and other necessary documents for the cremation to take place. The death certificate will be issued to you by the local Registrars Office for a fee of £11.00 per copy (in England & Wales) or £10.00 per copy (in Scotland)
We will arrange with the relevant doctors for their part to be completed.
How much does a Direct Cremation cost?
Direct Cremation Services can vary with some companies charging over £1,200.
Here at AW Direct Cremations Ltd, we want to give your loved one a simple yet dignified service which will be cost effective to you.
Our Direct Cremations are £950.00 all inclusive.
This includes bringing your loved one into our care from their place of death, the relevant Medical/ Doctors fee's, Crematorium fee's, a Scatter Tube urn, the necessary vehicles and the attendance of our staff on the day of the cremation.
